Job Description:
As a fully component engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter of the functional area of the assignments, plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedure and criteria.
Devices new approaches to problems encountered.
Exercise of judgment is required on details of work in making selections and adaption of engineering alternatives and in making decisions about project management, scheduling and resources.
Processes either broad based engineering experience or very specific subject matter expertise or both.
This role is typically associated with routine interaction with field operations, quality control and manufacturing to rapidly solve practical issues.
It often involves the development of work- around that deviates’ from the standard practice.
The individual filling this role is not likely to engage in any long term research and development.
These positions are more common in Application Engineering and Sustaining Engineering Groups.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform advance engineering tasks within the established Product Process.
These tasks include but are not limited to : Strength of material problems, stress analysis, simple torque, tension and compression problems, advanced statics and dynamic s problems, material selection, cost estimation and tolerance studies. Most of these tasks take place as either routine, day to day activities or as Sustaining Engineering Projects.
Modify existing products to meet internal or external customer requirements.
Creates engineering layouts to fit, form and function checking.
Prepares calculations and design packages as required to complete design reviews.
Prepare checks and directs the preparation of detailed drawings and layouts.
Coordinates the manufacture of prototypes.
Develops and conducts experimental tests Programs.
Analyse test data to determine if the product meets predetermined technical specifications.
Prepare documentation as required for engineering files.
Develop new products and services.
Conducts the analysis of failure and makes recommendations.
Prevents or eliminates defects in new or existing products.
Demonstrates and understanding of the theoretical calculations as they apply to the design of the product.
May utilize computer driver engineering software to complete complex analysis.
Coordinates all activities associated with technical developments, scheduling, budgeting, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Directs other in all engineering activities to include working within the Product Development Process.
Anticipates possible failure modes on products and recommends solutions based on experience.
Proactively develops and communicates design guidelines for the departments.
Performs comprehensive analysis of critical components to eliminate possible failure mode.
Experience / Qualifications:
B.S. In Mechanical engineering or
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology
Proven technical problem solving ability
Willingness to learn new skills
Demonstrates communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment
Demonstrates leadership and supervisory skills
Microsoft office Suite
At least eight years of experience in the engineering profession or equivalent graduate level education.
Possess broad based knowledge of one or more products with in a product line.
Pro-E, FEA
At least six years of oil field experience.
Preferred:
Professional Engineering
Member of Professional Society such as Society of Petroleum Engineering(SPE)or American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME Equivalent).
Special Requirements:
Willing to travel locally as required to liaise with Manufacturing, Product lIne Management, Sales, Customs or Vendors
Willing to travel internationally to support product development testing or Product Line Engineering efforts.
Willing to share skills and knowledge with others.
Preferred:
Willing and able to work in a rapidly changing environment
Capable of communicating directly with others inside and outside of [Company] about the performance of products in conventional and unconventional situations.
