About The Client
Our client is an integrated, sub-surface petroleum engineering consultancy that levers the creative thinking of an experienced team of specialists; state-of-the-art software; and a broad spectrum of world-wide knowledge to provide innovative & cost effective solutions to the evaluation and development of oil and gas resources.
They provide advice upon the development of natural resources, land and property, the management of the environment and the health and safety of people. The company operates worldwide from regional offices in , , Europe , Asia & Australia.
Our client is looking for enthusiastic, talented staff with a unique blend of skills and experience to help build their team in Calgary as well as with global opportunities.
About The Opportunity
This is a senior reservoir engineering role which will involve a combination of hands-on technical work, project management and mentoring of more junior staff.
You will work with our clients from the problem and workscope definition stages, all the way through execution of the project, to the development of optimized solutions and final reporting/presentation of results.
Many of our projects are inter-disciplinary in nature with tight integration with G&G and other petroleum engineering disciplines.
Job Description
- Solid technical foundations in all aspects of reservoir engineering:
- Reservoir rock and fluid properties, hydrocarbon volumetric calculations, static reservoir modeling, dynamic reservoir simulation, well test analysis, field development planning and optimization, EOR, etc
- Previous experience on a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment
- Entrepreneurial attitude combined with exceptional technical, communication and consulting skills
- Demonstrated business acumen and an interest in a broader perspective
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal and communicational skills coupled with the ability to interact well as a part of a team
- Some exposure to international upstream operations is preferred
Education, Experience & Skills
- 10 Years Experience with reservoir analysis and modeling tools is required. Acquisitions and divestments, and economic evaluation experience is preferred.
- High degree of competency with state of the reservoir engineering techniques, workflows and software tools (eg Eclipse, Mbal, PVT-P, OFM, Peep etc)
Additional Information:
May require occasional travel but the majority of the work is completed in our office.
